Heart Of Douche-ness or “The Imperialism Of Young Assholes”

Lead singer Joe Newman asked us to sweat with him and we did.
M83 / Active Child
M83 played their final US show the day before Thanksgiving at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. Hailed as the show of the year in the months preceding it, the French outfit (with American support) had a lot to live up to. But before they finished their first song, it was clear: hype is irrelevant. Each note was played with a professional, effortless precision; without any regard for self-awareness.
The music was phenomenal, and made one forget the spartan layout of the venue. Also of note was the show behind the show; the Music Hall of Williamsburg is known for it’s uncharacteristically impressive lighting setup, but the team behind this event made capturing the feel of the show effortless for this photographer.
Below are photos in three parts: the opening act Active Child, M83′s performance, and the cozy after-party next door.
TIP: For maximum enjoyment, we recommend listening to this synth mix by our latest contributor Elizabeth Bridenstine while peeping the photos.
